Random Weekend Recap!

Rusty and I had yet another busy but fun weekend! We both work just about every Saturday, so that only leaves Sunday for us to have a little fun! Please enjoy our weekend fun through these fun but random pictures!!

Saturday night Rusty and I made an awesome dinner on the grill! Pork Tenderloin with pineapple and roasted veggies (green peppers, onions, squash, and potatoes). It was soooo yummy and Rusty's idea, I have to say he is a very good griller!

We finished Saturday evening off just right..... with a trip to our local ice cream shop! They have the best black raspberry soft serve ice cream, it is to die for! I am not even that big of an ice cream lover, but this stuff is amazing!!!

Sunday was my nephew's 5th birthday party! It is hard to believe that Huntington is five years old already!!! His party was so cute, pirate themed!

His cake was awesome! It was a cupcake cake, so good!

I got him a monster truck that looked like a shark, he loved it! Its always nice when your gift is a big hit!!!

Huntington got a mini 4-wheeler for his birthday, he is in LOVE! He did a lot of showing off around the yard.... he looks so big!

Three sisters! Amy in the back (my middle sister) and Jenny in the front (my oldest sister).... that leaves me in the middle as the baby :)

Early Sunday evening Rusty and I headed out on the boat to Lake Meade with out neighbors.... a nice relaxing ending to the day!

Overall, it was a nice weekend. All good things must end, so it is off to start another work week. But not until I finish watching my guilty pleasure.... New Jersey Housewives! These women are crazy, but I love the drama :)

I Need Some Help....

Ever since our trip to North Carolina, I can not get the wonderful taste of the home made guacamole out of my mind! If only the Mexican restaurant was close.... I would definitely be there tonight.

The guacamole was the best that I have ever had.... in fact I never really even like it before! It has chunks of tomatoes and onions, so good!
Does anyone have a good guacamole recipe they could share with me?? I feel like an addict and I have a feeling I will need a "fix" soon!! haha

On a side note, I helped my friend Alex make a blog while I was visiting NC. Check out and follow her blog here!

Sweet Southern Comfort!

Rusty and I had a long weekend visiting friends in the North Carolina! We had such a great time, the weekend just simply was not long enough!!! We headed down to the south on mid Friday afternoon after Rusty got off of work around 10am. It was a long ride down, complete with lots of traffic in northern VA (Rusty and I keep saying that we have to find a new route down!) Any suggestions are welcomed :)
We stayed with our friends Alex and Fred, thanks for the invitation and hospitality. The weekend was full of lots of eating (way too much eating....) and lots of time with friends from college that I have not seen in a long time! The food was wonderful- El Tap for Mexican food (the best guacamole which they make right at your table), Zaxby's for awesome chicken, Sonic for ice cream (way too many times in one weekend), and of course Bojangles :)

Here is a picture of what our guacamole looked like, I forgot to take a picture before we ate it all! I have never liked guacamole, but this stuff was WONDERFUL!

Saturday evening we went to a wedding celebration for Berrin and Judson, a good friend from college who had a private beach wedding a couple of months ago. It was a hot evening, but a great time. It was such a fun themed party and the host was great! Here are some pictures from the evening, it was great to see some of my favorite friends from college :)

Bright, fun flowers!

Sunday we went to Berrin and Judson's house for a welcome home party for Kati and Billy who have been in South Korea for the past two years (for Billy's work). It was so great to see Kati again....fun times with great friends once again. The food was great.... everyone brought a little something to share which was great since I came away with some good ideas! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

Pretty table for the party!

All of us girls!

After the party, we went to see little Paislee, she is just too darn cute! She is a little over one years old but she is so cute! She even knows the sound and "hand motion" a crab makes!!!!

Paislee loves the car, she says "beep beep!"

Of course all great things must come to an end! We had a great weekend and thankfully it was not too bad of a trip back home. Traffic was great and Rusty and I kept each other company in the car haha! Here is one last picture from the weekend....driving home. We were excited that we made it to the halfway point in Richmond!!!

Now it is back to the work week....

Reporting In.....

Just wanted to say a quick hello from the wonderful state of North Carolina :) Rusty and I are having a blast visiting our friends, Alex and Fred! It is amazing how we can go several months without seeing each other and catch up within the first couple minutes and then go on like there has been no time between visits!!
Tonight we are heading to see some more friends at Berrin and Judson's wedding celebration- should be a good time. Sunday I will finally get to see Kati after over two years of seperation, haha!
Well I am off to have some more fun- stay cool! It is hot down in the south ;)

TIRED!

I am tired.....exhausted, sleepy, have no energy, want to sleep all day. Whatever you want to call it or however you want to explain it. Put a fork in me, I am done!
I guess working six days a week and on-call is catching up to me.....thank goodness I have a four day weekend coming up and I am heading to NC!!!!!
Until next time....I am off to bed :)

Carnival Fun!

Two nights ago Rusty and I headed to our home town of Manchester Maryland for the local carnival and parade. We met up with family (sister in law, mother in law, nieces, nephews, and friends) for the parade. Rusty rode on his works float along with our nephew Luke. Luke had a blast, he thought he was hot stuff!! I sat on the side line watching with my niece Hannah and family. I love the picture of Hannah's pig tails :)
After the parade we met up with some great friends, Greg and Jesse, who are in town from FL. We got to meet their baby girl, Stori. She is just too cute and full of smiles. They make great parents!
It was a great night of family, friends, and old time summer traditions!

Happy Birthday Rusty!!!

Rusty's 31st Birthday was this past Sunday, July 3rd. We celebrated big with our friends/neighbors out on the lake. There was lots of food, drinks, swimming, sun, bday cake, and fireworks! The good thing about having your birthday so close to the 4th is getting to enjoy the fireworks!! I wasn't able to get a good picture of the fireworks, but they were great!! Enjoy the pics, Happy Birthday :)
