Christmas Cookie Swap!

Tomorrow I will be heading to my first Christmas Cookie Swap! I am pretty excited about it.... the first holiday event of the season and we get to eat some yummy cookies.
For the cookie swap, I decided to make Reese's Pieces Cookies. You can check out the recipe here. The recipe is super easy and doesn't require a lot of ingredients- which is always nice! It really didn't take me long to do at all and the recipe made about six dozen cookies.
Here is a picture of the finished product :)

I can't wait to try all the cookies tomorrow and hang out with Julie and Ashley (who invited me- thanks!) and meet some of their friends!!!
I will keep you posted on the yummy recipe's I get :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope everyone has a great day celebrating Thanksgiving! Rusty and I are heading to my parents house to eat and then his parents for dessert! I am actually on call tomorrow- lets pray for a easy day of call!

I made a quick (painless) trip to the grocery store to pick up some last minute things- I don't have to make much, so I didn't need to get much!

I bet you can't guess what I am in charge of this year from my picture.....

That's right- Green Bean Casserole and Oreo Dirt!!!!

I can't wait for all the yummy food tomorrow :) Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!

LAZY WEEKEND!!!

Just what the doctor ordered..... finally a totally relaxing weekend :)
I can not tell you the last time that I did not either work on Saturday or have tons of stuff to do on the weekend. I was actually suppose to work this Saturday but do the unit having a low census, I got cancelled- which was such a blessing! I needed a break, bad ;)
I stayed up late Friday night just laying in bed and watching TV. We got our Direct TV boxes replaced since we were having problems with them and now we have DVR upstairs in our bedroom. I LOVE it!!! I am secretly addicted to the Game Show Network and the new box allows me to DVR all the good games (you know, $25,000 Pyramid, Lingo, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and The Newlywed Game) and watch them as I am laying in bed. I am really into this whole new process- I have been going to bed way too late this whole week (but I really don't care- its bed fun!)
I slept in on Saturday (something I love to do but rarely get the opportunity to do). I spent the whole afternoon just relaxing around the house, watching TV and hanging out with the pups. Late Saturday afternoon I went out and got my hair done (colored and trimmed) and did a little shopping! I decided (kind of last minute) that I would get my hair colored, jut to try something different. I went darker for the winter season and I love how it turned out! Its always nice to do something different and new!
Saturday evening, Rusty and I went out with Julie and Danny to dinner and a movie. We tried this new place in York called Crimson! It was really good, I think we will definitely return for a second visit sometime soon. We followed it up with a movie- great night with great friends!
That brings us to Sunday. Another day to sleep in- this has been a great weekend ;)
We ran to the grocery store in the morning and got some stuff for dinner. I put together dinner, I am making pot roast in the crock pot! Chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions- pure perfection! We use Rusty's mom's recipe and it is always so good! Here is a picture of it cooking away, I will try to take an "after" picture and post that as well.

The rest of the afternoon is going to be spent just laying around and watching the Cowboy game with Rusty. I might catch up on a little documentation for work or clean a little around the house, but who knows! I don't want to mess up my perfect, lazy weekend!!!

I think I forgot to mention that our new chair and half arrived to our house! We put it in our new office, here is a picture (not the best, but somebody in the house LOVES the new chair!)

I hope you all had a great weekend- I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week! Wow, did this year fly by.

DWTS- Who Do You Think Is Going To The End???

Tonight is Dancing With The Stars.... we will find out who is going to the finale!!! I am so excited :)
This is a new show for me- just started watching last season. I have enjoyed it so far this year, my two favorite are Jennifer and Kyle (just because he is so much fun to watch!)

Who do you think will make it to the finale and be able to dance one more night for us???

Personally, I am hoping it will be
1. Jennifer
2. Kyle
3. Brandy (even though she gets on my nerves- she is good!)

I have no idea how poor Bristol is still on the show. She is not terrible but I think there were definitely people who were better than her that have already been eliminated!!! I guess we will see what happens tonight!!

Leave a comment (if you watch the show) on your predictions on who you think should win!!

I Need Your Help!!!

Let me just start this blog by saying, I love my husband very much!!!! But he is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!! He has a very bad habit of laying things around the house (where they do not belong). I need to come up with a solution and fast. I really do not like things to just lay around, but after awhile I just get tired of picking them up!
Do any of you have this problem and if so what are your suggestions??

Technology.....

You either love it or hate it!!! I am hating it right now.... too many problems at once!!!
I know I have been MIA lately in the "blog world" but I think this post will help to explain why- haha

In the past two weeks, I have had some bad luck when it comes to technology! Don't get me wrong- I love technology, but these past several weeks have tested my patience!!
It all started off with our laptop breaking (which is what I usually blog on while I am watching tv, hence the lack of blogs the past two weeks!)Somehow the spot where you blog the charger in broke off (inside the computer) which made us not be able to charge the laptop. We are in the process of getting it fixed- but its not as easy as what you would think. The only good thing that came of our laptop breaking was that we finally got a new desktop computer (something we needed for some time- I am in LOVE!)

Then my cell phone started acting up- its not broken and I can still use it but it gets so slow and freezes up every couple of days. I need to make a visit to sprint and get it checked out- I am pretty sure I would die if I had to go without a phone for a few days... haha

The next thing to go was my work laptop (which is essential for my job and documenting my patient care). I work from home a lot (which is just easier sine I make home hospice visits than going into the office). Thank goodness the computer guy at my job was able to fix my computer in a few days (thank you Charles!)

Finally, the last piece of technology that broke was BOTH of our Direct TV boxes at the SAME time. For those of you who know me, know this is a BIG deal (espeically with all these great fall shows that are on now). Direct TV must have known that this kind of thing would send me over the edge and sent someone out to replace our boxes within 1 1/2 days!!

But come on..... how much more can a girl take??? I hope "technology" is done playing jokes on me and this will be the end of my list!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sophia Rose!!

Today is my little baby girl's 2nd Birthday :) We celebrated in style- with doggie cookies and hats :) Snickers and Sophia loved every minute along with mommy and daddy!
I guess you can really tell from these pictures that we don't have any "real" kids- so our fur babies fill that void for now (and that is just fine with me!)

Here are some pictures from our fabulous doggie Birthday Party!!

The Birthday girl- Miss Sophia Rose

Birthday Cookies (yes they are Halloween themed- only cookies the doggie bakery had that I knew both pups would like!)

Oh course no party would be complete without your best friend to help you celebrate- SNICKERS!

Snickers and Sophia enjoying their goodies- with their matching shirts and hats (yes, I know I am a little over the top but I don't care!)

I think she had a great birthday- what else could a little pup need???
Happy 2nd Birthday Sophia Rose- and many, many more!!!!!!!!!!
