Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

I have never been much on dressing up for the holiday but I love this time of year and giving out candy to the little kiddos! I love to see all the costumes and the little kids eager to say "trick or treat" and see what kind of goodies you are giving out ;)

Rusty loves to dress up, so he really doesn't understand why I am not really into it.... but that's ok! Last year he dressed up as a human Pez Dispenser (it was great- you can see pictures here I did this post to show what is really important in my husband's world- haha j/k

Although he has decided not to dress up this year he has seriously thought about being a "depressed cowboy fan" (although this relay wouldn't be a costume, sadly it would be reality). Poor Rusty is having a hard time accepting the outcome of his poor Cowboys and of course his favor QB Tony Romo!!! It was pretty bad this past week- I was starting to get worried about him.... he is doing a little bit better. I told him he would just have to take things day by day.... it is a true loss for him
:( He still tells me that he might put on his Romo jersey and a brown paper bag over his head! If he does.... I will be sure to take some pictures for your enjoyment :)

Rusty and I are going to just hang out the rest of the evening and wait for the kiddos to come. We are going to carve one of our pumpkins (a tradition we started two years ago on Halloween) so we can enjoy the pumpkin seeds while we pass out candy! Pictures to come....

Here is a picture for your enjoyment (the pups of course, ready and waiting for the fun to begin):

Have a great rest of the weekend and HAPPY HALLOWEEN from the Christman's :)

What a Week....

Well it has been over a week since I have last sat down to share my life with you all.... and what a week it has been!
It all started Sunday and Monday with Rusty having a little cold. I played the role of a good wife and made hime some chicken noodle soup and hot tea- he pretty much recovered by Tuesday and was feeling pretty good!
Come Tuesday evening, I was feeling pretty bad myself. By Wednesday it was clear that I had taken over Rusty's cold, a guess just another joy of marriage they don't tell you about ;)
It started to get worse and worse through the week, by time Thursday I really thought I was going to die! It heard to breathe because my lungs/chest were so full of yuckky stuff and sleeping was next to impossible. Doctor appointment and pharmacy visit later, the verdict is bronchitus and double ear infections!!!
Oh course all of this could not have happened on a worse week/weekend. As you might remember from my previous posts, I was suppose to head to North Carolina for Barton College Homecoming weekend with some great friends!
Instead of a great weekend in the south, I have been laying on the couch, taking naps, drinking hot tea, and a diet of hot soup..... not much fun at all! My chest is so full of yucky stuff and my cough feels like it is NEVER going to let up. From all of the coughing, my lungs hurt so bad that even breathing is just about miserable!
Anyway, enough complaining.... I hope that all my sigma ladies from Barton had a great time at Homecoming. I missed you all and can't wait to see you all again....

Message From South Korea....

A certain crazy, fun-loving red headed southern belle sent me a message from South Korea saying that she was coming home (well to her home in North Carolina) for a visit!!!!!!!!
Which means that I get to see my good friend who has been stationed in South Korea with her husband for over a year! I don't know about you but its the best news that I have ever received from half way across the world.
Kati- thanks for the great message and I can't wait to see you. I have certainly missed our wonderful phone chats and friendship- see you soon :)

Happy 2 Year Wedding Anniversary!

Rusty and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary on Monday (October 4th). We both took off for the day, which gave us two days to celebrate!!!
We really didn't do anything too exciting, just a lot of relaxing and hanging out together. On our anniversary we both slept in and then headed to breakfast at Cracker Barrel which is always a good time and good food! We then headed to a local furniture store and ordered a chair and half for our new office. I wanted to make a "reading corner" which would be comfortable for both Rusty and I. I don't have a picture to share with you, but will certainly post pictures when it arrives. We did a special order which allowed us to customize the colors to match our office, so it is going to take 6-8 weeks to come in. I can't wait for it to arrive- I hope its going to look good!
Anyway, back to our anniversary. We then headed to the local orchard, Brown's, and got some apple cider, apples, Carmel apple, and carrot cake. We couldn't decide between the Carmel apple or carrot cake- so we got one apple and a single serving of carrot cake to share for dessert!
We then came home and decided to just sit around and relax (it was raining really had which made it a good day to just relax). We watched several episodes of Greys Anatomy (we were catching up on Season Six- very good might I add!)After watching several episodes, it was time to head to dinner. We decided to go to The Olive Garden which was delicious! We then came home and enjoyed our dessert we got earlier- they both were so good- it was a good thing that we couldn't decide and got to try a little of each :)
We also had these goodies to snake on throughout the day! Our friend, Julie, made these for us and they were so good- thank you Julie!!!!

Overall, it was a great day. It was so nice spending the two days together. I almost forgot- we exchanged some presents. We didn't do anything too crazy but I loved my gift. Rusty got me a new Vera Bradley for work. For those who know me well- you know that I LOVE Vera Bradley!!! Here is a picture of the bag- I love the colors and the style is perfect, it fits my work stuff and my laptop which is perfect.

I got Rusty a new Cowboy Jersey he had been wanting and an i-tunes card, which is always a good choice for him. He enjoyed the jersey and of course used the i-tunes card right away- he loves getting new music!

Thanks for reading about our anniversary! I can't believe that it has already been two years- I guess it is true what they say, time flies when you are having fun ;)

<3 I love You Rusty- thanks for the most amazing two years <3

New Look???

I am laying here in bed (should be going to sleep, but too busy on the good ol' lap top) and just noticed that Blogger got a face lift!!!
I am liking some of the changes right away (like how they are now listing all the blogs you follow on the side) but I am not sure how I feel about how they are listing the most recent updates.... but I am sure with everything else, we will all get used to the changes!!
Rusty and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary on Monday- I know I am super behind, but I promise a post will be coming soon with pictures!!

Fall Is In The Air!

Its official, the Christman house is ready for fall! It is our favorite time of the year and this weekend was a perfect time to prepare for this wonderful season! We have had wonderful weather this weekend- sunny, cool, and breezy just like a perfect fall day!

Today Rusty and I went out to a local pumpkin patch to get our fall decorations. I wish I had my camera while we were there (but I forgot it at home) because this little pumpkin patch was so darn cute!! We will definitely visit again next year, they had a wide selection and the prices were great. We got everything for $20 dollars, which I thought was a pretty good deal :)

If you look closely in the window to the left you can see little Sophia looking out at her Mama! You can click on the pictures to make them bigger if needed.

Another view- if you look closely in the door you can see little Snickers looking out at his Mama- they are never too far from me or Rusty :)

Close up- after putting everything together I have decided that we want to get another mum to sit on the corner, perhaps maybe a yellow one?

Indian Corn- one of my favorites, the colors are so pretty!

I was working in our new office on some computer stuff for work and I caught these two little sweet pups looking out the window at their daddy cutting the grass! Snickers and Sophia are also ready for fall/Halloween- their shirts glow in the dark too! At night it looks like a little pumpkin and ghost running down our steps haha!

Speaking of our new office- here is a picture of the progress so far. We still need to get a comfy chair for our reading corner, hang some pictures, and get some more lighting in the room. But here is a sneak preview so far....

Rusty and I plan to spend the rest of our evening watching Greys Anatomy- we are catching up on last season, so far it is really good! I think I am most excited about having two days off (Sunday and Monday) with Rusty. Tomorrow is our two year anniversary and we will be spending the day together, Rusty has some surprise plans which should be a good time :)

Until next time, enjoy the fall weather!!!

Love Notes!

Just when I thought romance was a thing of the past- he leaves me a little sweet love note..... cyber style :)

Rusty has been working a CRAZY schedule this week, which has left me alone many nights this week. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I really missed having him around. I feel bad saying that- I know that there are many people out there that live this way all the time, and I too had my time of having a long distance relationship when I was away for college. I guess I just have gotten used to spending every evening together, so being apart for a couple of evenings is now a big deal! My heart goes out to those who are apart way too often (especially my favorite girl Julie!)

Anyway, back on topic..... Rusty had been gone for two evenings in a row and I was complaining to him that I missed him (typical girl, huh?) Well the next morning he made me a little love note and left it on the computer for me to see when I turned it on! How cute...... and a nice high-tech alternative to the typical love note :)
